We love this song here at the Still Web. It took us a while to find a version with subtitles that accurately (more or less) reflect the spirit of the words in Spanish. It is sung in a more upbeat manner than the original, but sung beautifully nevertheless. The original was by Violeta Parra, a chilean singer, and we searched for the original too, of course. You can listen to it here, no translation but we think this is the most beautiful and poignant rendition. Parra killed herself a year after the album with this song was published in 1966.
