Today pick a short passage or poem that speaks to your heart and memorise it.

Easwaran’s book on passage meditation tells us: “Once you have memorized a passage, you are ready to go through it word by word, as slowly as you can. Why slowly? I think it is Meher Baba, a modern mystic of India, who explained:

A mind that is fast is sick.
A mind that is slow is sound.
A mind that is still is divine.”

If you need some help with passages to practice, we have them. Yet, it may be better to choose something that quietens your mind and that you love to commit to memory today. We are recycling this daily stillness activity today as we are on a roll from yesterday exercising our memory muscles to find a still point in our day.
