Set aside 12 minutes at least once per day. Choose six to nine different sounds around you that you can hear and follow this routine (source):

  1. Listen to each sound for one minute at a time
  2. Listen to each sound for 10-20 seconds
  3. Listen to all the sounds you can hear at the same time for two minutes
